Ghostly Beard - Blue (illi’s Rendition")

This semester has been a bit of a learning curve for me, mostly spent comparing what I’ve self-taught over the years, with what I’ve learned during the course. Our final task, The creative Jazz mix of Ghostly Beard - Blue, was a perfect example of this learning curve, showing me clearly how, different genres need different approaches, and how much my approach, is specific to the music I make.

This has totally widened my vision of how to approach a mixdown, introducing factors that I had never even considered, like the choice of microphone and its placement for example. However, as a door shuts a new one opens, and as my horizons widen I have a million more questions to ask.

Below you can find my “creative” version of the mixdown where I have tried to show the skills learned in class, with the research I have done specifically towards Jazz, yet still adding my own little flavor to the finished product. I hope you enjoy the music :)
